“Nancy - Wemon Are Stupid”
When we first start editing these comics we never know who the characters are so the jokes are all about imposing stuff over the artwork. Then as we go on and, in a lot of cases, actually start becoming fans of what we’re making fun of the dialogue gets more and more in character and less and less like something someone would actually laugh at.
So gawd bless Scobell for this early Nancy edit. We didn’t know who Aunt Fritzi was, about her rich historical role in the comic or that current artist Guy Gilchrist is quite obviously in love with her. It’s just a good ol’ fashioned down home joke about the portrayal of wemon in media. A hyuk hyuk.
